Accessibility statement
Move is a free community map for finding and sharing dropped kerbs, ramps, step-free entrances, accessible toilets and other accessible places anywhere in the world, starting with Jersey. It’s about getting around more easily, so we want the website itself to work for as many people as possible.
How accessible this website is
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. You should be able to:
- use every page with a keyboard, with “Skip to” links and a clear two-colour focus outline
- open spots on the map with Enter or Space. The closest spots on screen are in the Tab order, and the map moves to show the spot you are on
- use the Nearby list as a full text version of the map, closest first
- tell spot types apart by shape and letter code, not only colour (see Map key)
- use a screen reader: dialogs, scores, messages and the story’s games are announced
- make text bigger or turn on extra-high contrast in the map (Me → Display)
- zoom to 400% or use a narrow screen without scrolling sideways
- turn off animation with your device’s “reduce motion” setting
- read a transcript under every video, as well as the words shown on screen
We last tested the site on 27 October 2026, using automated checks (axe-core), keyboard-only use, a 320 px wide screen, text-spacing and reduced-motion checks, and manual colour-contrast checks.
Known limitations
- The map. Map tiles and some spot data come from OpenStreetMap. Where lots of spots are close together, we group them into one numbered marker until you zoom in. The Nearby list is the easiest way to browse spots without the map.
- Videos. The videos play on YouTube. The spoken words are shown as text in the picture, and there is a transcript under each video. YouTube’s own caption track may still be auto-generated while we add our checked caption files.
- Things we haven’t tested yet. We have not yet tested with every screen reader (for example VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA and JAWS), voice control, switch access or Windows high-contrast mode. If something doesn’t work for you, please tell us.
- Player-added content. Spots, notes and photos are added by players. We can’t check that every note is clear or every photo has a useful description.
Access at real places
MOOve is a fun, community-made guide, not an official survey. Spots come from OpenStreetMap and from players, and things change: kerbs get dug up, ramps get blocked, toilets close. We don’t hold checked information about any venue’s access. Please check for yourself on the day, and if you find a spot is wrong, flag it on the map so others know.
Feedback and contact
If something on this site doesn’t work for you, or you need information in a different format, email [email protected]. Tell us the page and what went wrong, and we’ll reply as soon as we can, usually within 5 working days.
